On December 1st, amidst the illustrious setting of the COP 28 UNFCCC Conference of the Parties in Expo City, Dubai, the prestigious Climate Positive Award 2023 winners were unveiled by Green Cross United Kingdom. It is with great pride that we announce One Carbon World as a distinguished recipient of this coveted award.

Initiated by Green Cross UK, the Climate Positive Award serves as a beacon, illuminating the path for individuals and organisations committed to practices, innovations, initiatives, and technologies that propel the climate positive wave—addressing climate change, global transformation, and human rights enhancement.

This accolade, designed to celebrate thought leaders within the climate movement, honours both individuals and organisations across public and private sectors. Guided by the core principle articulated by Green Cross United Kingdom— "looking at the pillars of Sustainable Development, taking into account the Hierarchy of Actions, based on learning from nature, the common good, and the equitable distribution of value."

Within the award's diverse categories, such as Circular Economy, Decarbonization, Energy Transition, Digital Evolution, Sustainable Infrastructure, Diversity and Inclusion, and Bottom-Up Sustainable Morality, One Carbon World stands tall, joining the ranks of esteemed winners, including industry giants like Google Ltd. and the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Ecologic Transition.

For a small not-for-profit organisation, the magnitude of this achievement is truly inspiring. To share the limelight with larger, profit-driven entities in the distinguished list of past winners is a testament to the exceptional impact of One Carbon World's endeavours.

Since its inception in 2009, the Climate Positive Award has borne witness to dramatic changes in the environment and its honorees. In 2009, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels measured approximately 390 parts per million; today, as we bask in the glow of this meaningful achievement, that figure has surged to around 424 parts per million. Concurrently, the global average land temperature, which stood at 0.77°C above average in 2009, has climbed to a concerning 1.43°C above average in 2023 (pre-industrial revolution).
